Essential Question: "What does it take to become a small aircraft pilot?"
My senior product and artist statement both demonstrate my essential question, effectively showcasing it's essence and explaining what I do when I go to the airport.

Artist Statement:
The video that I created for my Senior Seminar product exhibits many of the things I did during not only my internship, but the period during the year that I went to the airport outside of the allocated time for the internship as well. During the course of the video, I outline and showcase some of the things I was taught, editing it into my video so that I can portray some of the answer to what my essential question makes up, which is “what does it take to become a small aircraft pilot?”
The video opens with an intro about me, my mentor, and my experiences, then I delve into the processes that I routinely went through once I arrived at the airport during the day. The way I showcase what I learned and part of what I did was through a video, represented as a schedule of my process during the day. It is similar to a “day in the life” video. Some of the topics I discuss and exhibit are subjects such as the preflight, takeoffs and landings, and certain maneuvers that I have been doing recently.
The preflight shows what pilots do before we fly the plane and the checks that go along with it, so that we can make sure nothing is wrong with the plane and we can assure everyone's safety during the flight. Once the preflight is over, I then showcase myself taxiing out to the runway, and then my takeoff, explaining some of the crucial points. Once I am up in the air, I talk through some different maneuvers that I have learned during my time at the airport, such as “S turns” and “steep turns,” as well as some shots I was able to take when I was above the clouds. The landing process is one of the hardest things to learn when learning to fly a plane, so I explain my process of how I complete successful landings, and then do a final concluding statement in front of the aircraft.

Global Studies Junior Year Project
I made a Prezi Presentation on how diversity affects schools and students, including the benefits and projections for racial and ethnic diversity in the future of school systems. I also discussed examples of schools with diversity and how they are different from schools without it. I included reliables statistics and sources to prove my points on how diversity improves students performance. You can find the link to access it here!
Program on how to be a responsible traveler...
Over the summer of 2020, I participated in a summer program on how to be a responsible traveler. It was run by my Global Studies teacher, and during the class we talked about many things, such as the difference between a tourist and traveler, and did some zoom meetings with friends from other countries. We also discussed the pandemics effect in other countries, and the challenges that it brings for people that live in other places of the world. It was very informative and opened my eyes to the importance of travel and why it is an important aspect in man peoples lives.
